A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties.
Ice and sleet as well as reduced visibility are expected to make travel conditions unsafe Friday morning.
The combination of moderate to heavy rain, on top of snow melt and the possibility of isolated ice jams along area rivers and streams, presents the threat of localized street flooding.

Winter weather advisories were scheduled to take effect in much of West Virginia, with the exceptions of the Eastern Panhandle and southeastern West Virginia counties, late Friday afternoon or Friday night.

In Murrysville, police shut down a section of lower Ashbaugh Road between Saltsburg and Mamont roads after a mudslide blocked the road around 10:30 a.m. "Saturday looks to be pretty chilly, but Sunday's supposed to feature a warm-up with highs going back into the low 30s". A flood watch last late Friday, the weather service said.
