The Nigerian forward has been rarely used since he moved from Manchester City to Leicester.

Musa had a good start in Leicester City but his influences in games began to wane and he has been completely frozen out of the team since the sacking of Claudio Ranieri.

The Franco-German coach told SuperSport, "My plan is to execute the World Cup with the players who are playing regularly with their respective clubs". Save for a few cup appearances, the Nigeria global does not even make the bench for Premier League games.

"We will see. Perhaps it could be a possibility".

"We don't have a lot of opportunities for all the players, like Ahmed Musa".

But with the likes of Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki at the club, the 20-year-old has had a rough start to life at the King Power, having made just 12 appearances this season.

In an interview with Leicester Mercury, Puel expressed hope that Iheanacho can get more playing time in the future.

Super Eagles technical adviser, Genot Rohr has advised Super Eagles duo of Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho to exploit January transfer window to look for new clubs.

Despite overcoming a toe injury at the start of the season, the Nigerian worldwide has failed to make an impact at the club - having to settle for a place on the bench as the likes of Jamie Vardy, Islam Slimani and Shinji Okazaki are higher up manager Claude Puel's pecking order.

Although Iheanacho has several clubs interested in him, they have reportedly baulked at his £115,000-a-week wage.
