PSG star Neymar - who joined the French giants this summer for a startling 222 million euros ($267 million) and became the world's most expensive player ever - was missing from UEFA Fans' Team of the Year yet again.

La Liga has the most representatives with six players selected - five from European champions Real Madrid - including a record 12th appearance for Cristiano Ronaldo - and Lionel Messi from Barcelona.

What do you think of the UEFA line up?

Chelsea and Manchester City are the two English clubs represented but it is European champions Real Madrid who unsurprisingly dominate the selection.

The team's central midfielders included two more Real Madrid players, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

To note, Manchester United midfielder and Armenian national squad captain Henrikh Mkhitaryan was among the candidates for the UEFA 2017 Team of the Year.
