Trump Attacks "Sneaky" Feinstein Over Testimony Release

Russia probe deepens

Trump rips 'Sneaky Dianne Feinstein' for releasing testimony about Russia dossier

In a midmorning tweet on Wednesday, President Trump called California Senator Dianne Feinstein "Sneaky Dianne" while condemning her over her release of a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing transcript.

"Must have tough Primary!" he tweeted.

Trump attacked Feinstein, D-Calif., for releasing a transcript of private testimony from Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson on Tuesday - testimony from last summer that Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee have declined to release.

Feinstein on Tuesday released the full transcript of the committee's interview with Glenn Simpson, the co-founder of the opposition research firm that produced the explosive dossier detailing alleged ties between Trump and Russian Federation.

"You do have certain members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, like Chairman Grassley, in effect, making these outrageous claims about a non-American citizen, implying that that non-American citizen, former agent of the British Secret Service Christopher Steele, making inappropriate comments", Warner said.

Trump dubbed Feinstein "Sneaky Dianne" and claimed that she released Simpson's testimony from August "in such an underhanded and possibly illegal way".

"Her action undermines the integrity of the committee's oversight work and jeopardizes its ability to secure candid voluntary testimony relating to the independent recollections of future witnesses", Grassley spokesman Taylor Foy said on Tuesday.

He said the research began as a general inquiry into Trump's business background, a typical function of opposition researchers during presidential campaigns, and only later focused on questions about his relations with Russian Federation.

On Monday, Democratic Sens.

Warner told "New Day" that he understood and empathized with Feinstein's decision to release the transcript. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., another member of the committee, last week sent a classified letter urging the Justice Department to open a criminal investigation of Steele. He did so again in a tweet Wednesday while appearing to suggest the GOP ought to help him move past the probes. "Republicans should finally take control!"
