The Overwatch League and streaming video service Twitch have signed a two-year broadcast rights deal, which means that every Overwatch League match will be broadcast on Twitch.

The Overwatch League is set to begin on Wednesday, January 10 and 16:00 PST.

Speaking as a Londoner, it's tough to feel too much pride in our local team, London Spitfire, when the team are based just outside of Los Angeles, and are Korean in their entirety. "With 12 first-class teams representing major cities from Asia, Europe, and North America, we're confident that the inaugural season of the league is going to redefine what people expect from esports-and be a giant celebration of the Overwatch community as a whole". The only territory that the game isn't being exclusively broadcast on Twitch is in China. There is no way of unlocking the League Skins through gameplay and you will have to buy them using a new in-game currency called League Tokens. Next, there will be Playoffs and Grand Finals. For the inaugural season, all games will take place at Blizzard Arena Los Angeles, a state-of-the-art live-event venue in Burbank, California, custom-renovated for Blizzard Entertainment esports events.

For now, the only thing sure is that the Overwatch League will start tonight, and fans will be able to see the transmission from Twitch, MLG.com, OverwatchLeague.com, in the Overwatch League application for smart devices and in the tab available in the title menu. All players who log in between now and February 13, 2018, will receive enough League Tokens to obtain a team uniform of their choice free. You can show your support to your favorite teams by rocking their skins in the game. Although details of "insider content", have been kept quite quiet for now, Twitch has said it will be looking to reward the biggest fans with certain items, cheering emotes and more.
