The first wave of 54 acts was announced on Tuesday morning, with more to be named in the coming weeks and months. Many more acts to follow.

But the inclusion of Kendrick Lamar and Dua Lipa, the global rap and pop stars, on the line-up for this summer's Leeds and Reading festivals prompted some to threaten to sell their tickets.

Fall Out Boy last performed at the festival in 2016, while Kings Of Leon played AEG Presents' British Summertime Festival past year. The Followills last headlined the festivals back in 2009.

Reading & Leeds take place at Readings Richmond Avenue and Leeds' Bramham Park over the late August bank holiday weekend, between 24th and 26th August. Dance fans will have their fill with the likes of legends such as Annie Mac, Birmingham breakthrough DJ favourite Hannah Wants, Riton & Kah-Lo, Bristolian duo My Nu Leng and American genius and Major Lazer co-creator Diplo. The North London quartet's 2017 album "Visions of a Life" received widespread critical acclaim, with NME calling it the album of the year and affirming them as "Best Band in Britain" - so we can no doubt expect an even more exhilarating set this year.

Previous headliners Kings Of Leon return, while Fall Out Boy complete the headline trio.

And for those who want some home grown British bands, The Wombats, Courteeners, The Magic Gang and singer-songwriter Tom Grennan have all made the bill.

The first batch of acts for this year's Reading & Leeds festival have finally been announced!

If something heavier is a little more your thing, UnderØath, Sum 41, Papa Roach, Waterparks, Hollywood Undead, Beartooth and Creeper are all in the mix.

All of the headliners will be making reappearances in Reading, having already played the festival before.
