Despite falling to the Blue Devils in the Champions Classic, the Spartans cruised through their regular season with minimal missteps, seizing the Big Ten regular-season title from the likes of Ohio State and Purdue.

3 seed in the Midwest Region and will play No. 14 seed Bucknell in the first round at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Kansas, Duke and Auburn round out the other teams in the top four. The region also includes North Carolina, Xavier, Gonzaga and Houston. In addition, MSU's streak is the third-longest active streak in the nation (Kansas, 29; Duke, 23). In a season filled with upsets in every conference, Michigan State has shown control and consistency through a roster brimming with talent at all positions.

If the Spartans get past Bucknell, they'll play either No. 6 seed TCU or the victor of the play-in game between Arizona State and Syracuse. The Spartans' biggest wins came against North Carolina, Purdue and Notre Dame, while they lost twice to MI and once each to Ohio State and Duke. The Bison took home another Patriot League title this year, going 16-2 in conference games and breezing through the conference tournament.
