DCP Abhishek Trimukhe of Thane Crime Branch told media that while they were interrogating three of the accused, they learnt that a lawyer named Rizwan Siddiquee had obtained the call details of Nawazuddin Siddiqui's wife. Nawaz was accused of spying on his wife with help of a local detective.
Further the reports suggest that the actor has collected call records of his wife by hiring a private detective so that he can keep a look on her and her calls. "To my surprise, the media had questions about some random allegations on me #Disgust", Mr. Siddiqui wrote, posting a few pictures from the activity with his daughter. Expressing his anger on his official Twitter handle, Nawazuddin tweeted, "Last evening, I was helping my daughter to prepare her school project Hydroelectric Power Generator & went to her school this morning for Project Exhibition". Thane's crime branch has arrested 11 in this connection, so far.
Eleven people, including India's first female detective, Rajani Pandit, have been apprehended in the case. Because of this, police summoned Nawaz, Sheeba and his lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui.
Reports also indicated that the Mumbai Police had summoned him for questioning as a part of the routine investigations, but the actor failed to appear in front of the investigation team.
The CDR racket was unearthed on January 24 when police, acting on a tip-off, nabbed four private detectives from Kalwa in the district. It is with regards to this case that Nawazuddin Siddiqui's name had popped up.
