"I am not suggesting he only went for the money, but I and most people knew that he was going to miss that dynamic of playing in Clasicos, against Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, the big games and the team-mates that you play alongside, to go to PSG who win the league every season at a canter".

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde quickly shot down the speculation, describing a possible Neymar return as "a fantasy".

Midfielder Ivan Rakitic says that he would be happy to see Neymar make a return to Barcelona at some stage in the future.

However, a Brazilian who will definitely be joining Barcelona at the end of the season is the young Arthur.

"He has not called me, but if it was up to me, I [would] open the dressing room door for him again", he told AS.

Barca coach Ernesto Valverde called the rumours "fantasy" on Friday but Rakitic was more welcoming to the idea of the Brazil global coming back to the club.

"But I can not see him leaving", he added.

Jose Mourinho is reportedly hoping to build a team around Neymar while Pep Guardiola is on the hunt for a potential Sergio Aguero replacement.

According to information from Mundo Deportivo, the latter has sent a precise and firm instructions to the PSG chief al-Khelaïfi: keep Neymar at all costs!

"Neymar's not said anything to me, but if it was up to me I would open the door for him to come back right now", Rakitic told reporters after Barca beat Malaga to move 11 points clear at the top of La Liga.

Paris Saint-Germain rocked the football world in the summer when they splashed £198 million to make Neymar the most expensive player in history. "It would be awesome to have him back".
