On the second full day of his first foreign tour since becoming heir apparent to the Saudi throne previous year, Prince Mohammed also had meetings with finance minister Philip Hammond, bankers, and lawmakers, and was due to dine with Prime Minister Theresa May at her country residence later.

Demonstrators staged a massive protest outside Number 10 Downing Street during the Prince's visit over both countries' role in Yemen in a war which has killed an estimated 10,000 people.

The stark criticism coincided with the arrival of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for a three-day trip that experts say is aimed at boosting military ties between London and Riyadh.

This came in a resolution entitled "Developments of situation in Yemen" issued at the end of the 149th regular session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level on Thursday, under the chairmanship of Saudi Arabia.

"This is a positive step towards agreeing a contract for our valued partner".

"We are committed to supporting the Kingdom [of Saudi Arabia] as it modernises the Saudi Armed Forces and develops key industrial capabilities critical to the delivery of Vision 2030", the company said in a short statement.

Saudi Arabia is leading a coalition that is fighting the Houthi rebels in behalf of the internationally recognized government of Yemen.

"The fact that you can rape, murder, kidnap, bomb schools, bomb clinics with no effect, speaks I think to the heart of the deeper challenge that we are addressing today".

The tournament may have its work cut out, however, as Saudi Arabia has yet to produce a professional golfer.

Before his visit, the 32-year-old Crown Prince Mohammed had emphasised the importance of the relationship between the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia regarding security.

But she has also raised concerns about the humanitarian crisis in Yemen with Prince Mohammed during his visit to the UK.
