Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Daryl Worley has been tasered and arrested by police after he became combative with officers after being found passed out in his vehicle.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the incident occurred at 6 a.m. ET on Sunday after Worley "became combative with police".

An Eagles spokesman said the team is in the process of gathering information about the Sunday incident.

Rapoport tweeted that Worley was passed out in his vehicle near Broad and Pattison Streets, blocking a highway.

Worley reportedly resisted arrest and fought with police before being tased by officers and taken into custody. Worley was also reportedly found with a gun.

It is not yet clear why Worley, who is a Philly native, was arrested. Worley started 14 games last season for the Panthers and totaled 63 tackles and a career-high 2 interceptions.

Worley entered a no contest plea and was given a six-month suspended sentence for an altercation with a woman outside a nightclub, when he was in college.
