Guardiola has won the League Cup already for City this season but a first Premier League title, to go with the three La Liga titles he won as manager of Barcelona and the three Bundesliga titles he delivered for Bayern Munich, will be particularly satisfying for the Spaniard.
City will now be looking to break the Premier League points record in their remaining five fixtures.
City had moved within touching distance of the title with a 3-1 win at Tottenham on Saturday.
"We've won the league for you, Man City, Man City", West Brom's fans chanted after the final whistle.
"I knew that sooner or later they would be (champions) and if I was in their position I would be very upset if someone said they won the title because Manchester United lost against West Brom".
"They won the title because they were the best team, because they won a great amount of points".
"You win titles with consistency at every level, not just the performance level but the mental level and the day by day".
"I noticed within the first month that if I'd met him at 18 or 20 [years old] then I would've been the flawless player for him", Kompany said. West Brom are a good team and don't deserve to be that low in the league. "That will give us a lot of points in the future".
City's club captain, who celebrated the win live on camera, spoke to Sky Sports in the aftermath of City being crowned champions. "They lost only two matches [this season] because they were the best team", Mourinho said.
Guardiola believes the 23-year-old's talent is among the best in the world but has told him to work harder at converting chances, even though he has bagged 22 times this season.
"I'm probably the first one to think about next season. That has happened. We have to try to focus on our games".
"We are able to win two games".
"But in general we were so stable".
I was unfortunate enough to play against that quality United side that dominated in the '90s, but this side would have beaten them - that's how good they are. "But the others are 21, 22, 23", he added.
