BlackBerry has not only made it clear that it is still around but is also ready to announce its next smartphone. The unveiling will take place in NY at 10am on the aforementioned date.
The BlackBerry KEY2 will succeed KEYone and as per its Twitter post, the company will host a launch event of 7 June at 10 am EST (that is around 1930 hours IST) in NY to officially launch its latest smartphone.
BlackBerry is all set to launch BlackBerry KEY2 at an event in NY on 7 of June. Previous leaks of the upcoming BlackBerry phone had named the device the BlackBerry Athena, though it is most likely to be the Key2. The tweet includes a teaser that reads, "An Icon Reborn".
The listing by TENAA showcased a dual rear camera setup on a Blackberry handset bearing model number BBF100-4. The Blackberry KEY2 stopped by TENAA and also received Bluetooth SIG and Wi-Fi Alliance certifications, which hinted at an announcement coming soon. As per the images available on the TENAA site, the smartphone will have a complete rubberised, textured panel on the back. There are speculations that KEY2 will support 4G LTE and dual-SIM support. The smartphone is further said to feature a 4.5-inch display, 64GB of internal storage, 3,360mAh battery, and Android 8.1 Oreo running out-of-the-box.
Furthermore, the Key2 is rumoured to have a plastic build. The keys on the full QWERTY keyboard of the handset also have a matte finish. Moreover, there are some rumors which suggest the handset will debut with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM.
