'Destination Wedding' Trailer: Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves Are Misanthropic Wedding Guests

Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder's first onscreen pairing came in 1992's critically acclaimed horror film, Dracula, which had Gary Oldman in the titular role. "Destination weddings are presumptuous".

Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder star, which is one of the best team-ups in a while, as two miserable and unpleasant wedding guests, Lindsay and Frank, who develop a mutual affection despite themselves. Both actors are undergoing a sort of career renaissance - Reeves as a gruff, stoic action hero in the phenomenally pulpy John Wick movies, and Ryder as the frantic Joyce Byers in Netflix's runaway hit series Stranger Things.

Ryder's Lindsay and Reeves' Frank arrive at a destination wedding only to discover they're the guests no one knows where to put, and are therefore stuck together. They're not thrilled to be paired up at the event, but somehow, they end up annoying each other in the same hotel room, and after Reeves declares, "I believe that there's nobody for anyone", I think we can accurately guess where this will go. This very much looks like a prototypical 90s romantic comedy with two stars who were very big and popular in that era. "But they also keep it fun". Check out the first trailer for "Destination Wedding" below, thanks to People. They are the movie.

Destination Wedding is due for release in the USA on 24 August.

The implication there is that yes, their characters do fall in love - or some variant of it - and we're furious with anticipation to see how that occurs.
