Just in time for late-summer vacations, City leaders and airline officials announced Thursday the start of new nonstop service to nine cities from San Antonio International Airport. The return flight leaves San Antonio at 3:25 p.m., arriving in Cleveland at 7:31 p.m.
Frontier also offers nonstop flights from Omaha to Austin, Texas; Denver; Las Vegas; Orlando, Florida; and Philadelphia.
To celebrate the new service, the airline is offering an introductory fare starting at $59 one way.
The new San Antonio flights begin August 12, and operate Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Air Canada on Thursday will launch daily nonstop flights to Vancouver, British Columbia.
"This new service adds yet another new destination and affordable option for our leisure and business travelers", said JAA CEO Steve Grossman.
United Airlines is increasing nonstop service between Newark Liberty International Airport and 15 destinations, including Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport.
United plans to increase flights to the airport, under the call letters SRQ, to two flights daily.
A record 848,233 total passengers flew through the global airport during March, according to the most recent aviation report.
