When he reviewed the video surveillance of the pool, he saw that the dog was in a risky situation, but fortunately, Smokey had a friend to help.

Becerra posted a video to Facebook which shows her daughter's dog, named Remus, leaping into the pool to save Smokey from drowning. The video shows Smokey becoming more and more stressed.

The video was captured on a security camera at the home of Laurie and Jay Becerra, KSAT reported.

The dog can be seen scrambling to get out while Remus anxiously paces back and forth alongside the pool.

The two dogs then run over to the home.

"When we saw the footage, we were amazed and our hearts filled with joy", the friend said.

A hero dog dived into a swimming pool to save his canine friend who fell into the water and couldn't get out.

Without wasting any time, Smokey puts his nose under Remus' backside and gives him the push he needs to lift himself onto the concrete.

ACS-low, Arizona, told the media that her husband Jay found his wet dog named Smokey and I chose to check what happened. "My best friend cried when we sent her the video".

She added the dogs often play near the pool without incident. "She says he's a certified lifeguard now".
