Neymar-to-Real Madrid reports escalate but Zinedine Zidane stays quiet

Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar, who is the most expensive footballer in history, has been heavily tipped to join LaLiga giants Real Madrid.

Neymar's recent activity on the social media has hinted he will welcome a move to Real Madrid if the European Champions go over the limit to bring him to Bernabeu.

Neymar, who joined PSG for a world-record 222 million euros last summer, has always been a target for Real Madrid.

"He is not my player", said Zidane. He's supposed to be the heir to their throne when their careers start to wane and has shown moments of true genius but for me two elements are still missing from his game: prudence and consistency.

AS have also claimed that ex-Madrid and Brazilian forward Ronaldo, who now does some ambassadorial work for Los Blancos, was working as an intermediary in the negotiations.

Neymar, who joined PSG for a world-record 222 million euros last summer, has emerged as a major close-season target for Real Madrid's president, Florentino Pérez, according to Spanish daily AS. Both the player and his club PSG have stated on a number of occasions that a move will not happen this summer and that Neymar will play in the French league next season.

The latest round of speculation comes as Neymar returned to Paris to finalise his recovery from a foot injury which has kept him sidelined since February.

Neymar was part of the parties at the Stade de France, where PSG defeated third-tier side Les Herbiers 2-0 at the Coupe de France final since they finished the domestic treble on Tuesday.
