According to Rose McGowan's statement, Argento sought help to deal with the trauma from Harvey Weinstein, who she accuses of raping her, and the subsequent emotional roller coaster she's been on since fighting against the scorned film producer over the last few months. Anthony's depression didn't let him, he put down his armor, and that was very much his choice.
Like McGowan, Argento was one of dozens of women who came forward past year to accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault or misconduct.
"It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain", the network said in a statement. "I am beyond devastated".
Bourdain began dating Argento shortly after his split, and at the time told People magazine that he would never marry again - and that Argento, herself twice divorced, felt the same way. "They won't be shipping his remains back for a couple of days because of formalities", Bourdain's mom, Gladys, told the New York Post.
"We are asking you to be better, to look deeper, to read and learn about mental illness, suicide and depression before you make it worse for survivors by judging that which we do not understand..."
A rep for Bourdain, as well as his brother Christopher, did not immediately respond to Fox News' request for comment. "He brought the world into our homes and inspired so many people to explore cultures and cities through their food".
Following Bourdain's suicide in France, McGowan traveled to Europe to be by Argento's side.
She also played a pivotal role in fostering her son's love of cooking. Nobody's ever going to say, 'Oh, but you promised we were going to go to the beach.' No, you know, you get a gig, that's it.
