Bethesda's Skyrim: Very Special Edition Jokes About An Amazon Alexa Port

Bethesda understands. We've had enough announcements of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim versions for new platforms.

The first sign that it was more than just an E3 video gag was when a product page appeared on Amazon shortly after the show.

At its E3 2018 press conference Sunday, Bethesda laughed its own success with a joke trailer for Skyrim on Amazon Alexa.

Bethesda has had a busy E3 2018, announcing Elder Scrolls VI, showing off what Fallout 76 is actually going to look like and also revealing some new Doom Eternal and Wolfenstein VR action and new IP Starfield.

It's not clear if this is really the full game, but it's still pretty remarkable that Bethesda did it.

Install the Amazon Shopping app for iOS or Amazon Alexa app for Android on your device, and enable the Skyrim Alexa Skill on your Amazon account. Skyrim on Alexa is actually real and can be played on your smart devices right now. Specifically, the app includes the ability to "quest and explore the dungeons of Skyrim", "master your weapons, spells and shouts", and you can even "guard your knees against arrows". Instead of marching through Tamriel through your Switch or PS4, Very Special Edition lets you play the game through your personal assistant, Alexa.
