Capcom Reveals First Screenshots and Details for Resident Evil 2

During Sony's E3 2018 press conference yesterday, the video game industry giant uncovered a whole bunch of awesome-looking titles that are on the way, not the least of which is Resident Evil 2 Remake.

The switch to an over-the-shoulder camera is a big change for sure, but otherwise it looks like the Resident Evil 2 remake is retaining numerous elements that made the original game a survival-horror classic. There's already an ongoing hype among hardcore Resi fans about this promising remake of the 1998 original.

In any case, the Resident Evil 2 remake looks like it's going to be worth the unbelievably long wait. They'll also be photo-realisitic visuals in 4K. However, others may approve of the new direction, as it offers a fresh way to experience the classic horror game. Leon S. Kennedy is a rookie cop who finds himself tied up in the madness of Raccoon City when he reports in for the world's worst first day on the job, while Claire Redfield is a street savvy college student who defies the danger of the city as she searches for her brother, Chris.

Fans of the Resident Evil franchise will be pleased to see the quality of the remade RE2 game: it looks like an entirely new game, one far more playable than the original on the newest consoles. "The first look at E3 is just a taste of what's to come".

Face the grotesque hordes - Zombies are brought to life with a horrifyingly realistic wet gore effect as they react in real time taking instant visible damage, making every bullet count.

To round things out, a slew of new screenshots for Resident Evil 2 have been revealed.

Iconic series defining gameplay - Engage in frenzied combat with enemies, explore dark menacing corridors, solve puzzles to access areas and collect and use items discovered around the environment in a terrifying constant fight for survival. If the footage is to be believed, the amount of work that went into this remake is on par with the work that went into the original Resident Evil remake, and that game is considered to be the best remake ever made.
