Comcast says most services restored after major outage

If you are on Xbox Live and having troubles with the party system, that is probably due to the Comcast outage.

A major outage is affecting Comcast customers nationwide, including throughout the Shenandoah Valley. Many on Twitter are calling out the company since they can not get through on the customer service line.

A Comcast outage has hit the second-largest USA pay-TV service, with the company saying it's experiencing a nationwide interruption affecting millions of video, internet and phone customers.

Comcast has also confirmed that one of its "large backbone network partners had a fiber cut", and that that may be responsible for the outages.

Customers took to their cellphones and mobile devices to complain vociferously on Twitter. Near 400 reports in the last two weeks come from the District of Columbia alone, followed by 295 reports in Philadelphia. Down Detector, which tracks connection problems through crowdsourced reports, had thousands of people claiming that their Comcast service is down since 9:30 a.m.
