The 25-year-old singer was rattling through one of her friendly Q&As with fans when one curious Lovatic (a Demi Lovato die-hard, for those who don't know) quizzed her on the "funniest prank" she's ever pulled. "She walked into his room without any permission and grabbed him in his 'area", and he freaked the f*** out hahahahaha'.
Initially, Demi defended herself by tweeting, 'I swear I could tweet something about craving jelly beans and it would offend someone'.
Some fans were quick to accuse Lovato of orchestrating sexual harassment and assault, not to mention disrespecting her employee, labelling the so-called prank a "legitimately a shitty thing to do".
Addressing a question from a Twitter follower about the "funniest prank you ever pulled", the "Sorry Not Sorry" singer responded in a tweet (which she subsequently deleted) recalling how she once "hired a lady of the night in Vegas and sent her" to the room of her bodyguard, Max. On top of that, the sex worker's decision to grab his private parts against his will constitutes assault.
Humor might be subjective, but this Demi Lovato prank just isn't amusing. But right now, it's kind of one of those things where the lyrics speak for me. A fan responded to that message, writing: "Imagine comparing sexual assault to jelly beans ugh demi truly lost her last two brain cells".
The "Cool For the Summer" singer then brought up her song "Warriors", saying that she of anyone doesn't need education on sexual assault. "Maybe you'll have more compassion for someone who made a simple mistake", she wrote.
"Of all people I know about sexual abuse", she tweeted. Lovato has since deleted the controversial tweet.
Before the Q&A took a turn for the worse, she revealed that her next single is the "most heartbreaking song" she's released yet. On the track, she hints at having "thicker skin" and being a "survivor" following an incident with an unknown person.
