While most fans expected to see The Division 2 officially revealed in full at Ubisoft's E3 2018 press conference, the initial debut trailer honor was given to Microsoft. Since then, Division agents have been fighting relentlessly to save what remains. Players will be leaving behind the ruined New York City from the original title and will be moving on to Washington D.C., which has also been hit just as hard by the smallpox virus. This time around, the game is set in Washington, DC, which is "on the brink of collapse".
Publisher Ubisoft is expanding the action of The Division 2 by focusing on a civil war between survivors and villainous bands of marauders. These will dive into various biomes of the D.C. map that include commercial areas, disrupted nature zones, the suburbs of Georgetown, and wide-open historic sites.
It appears players will get their chance to do battle in places like the Washington Monument, as well as in the underground bunkers where the city's military and political class retreated. It's up to you as the player to help civilians reclaim those points. "In Tom Clancy's The Division 2, this playground was created to provide a fair and exciting experience to all players, regardless of their level of progression".
The Division 2 will be released on March 15, 2019 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
