Horn, Chairman of Walt Disney Studios and Jon Favreau attend the premiere of Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm's "Solo: A Star Wars Story" at the El Capitan Theatre on May 10, 2018 in Hollywood, California. Speaking with James Cameron as part of a companion book for the AMC series James Cameron's Story of Science Fiction, George Lucas offered up some details on where he meant to take the Star Wars saga next.
We see George Lucas mentions delving into the "microbiotic world" of Star Wars, which is a reference to the prequels and the Midichlorians, which Lucas says are the creatures responsible for The Force. "They feed off the Force".
"If I'd held onto the company I could've done it [seen the story through to its end], and then it would have been done". "Of course, a lot of the fans would have hated it, just like they did Phantom Menace and everything, but at least the whole story from beginning to end would be told", he said.
A better or worse idea than Jar Jar Binks
The Last Jedi's problem is more serious than that: after this epic movie hit screens, breakout star Kelly Marie Tran - who plays Resistance fighter (okay, maintenance worker) Rose Tico - received a barrage of hateful abuse online from racist, misogynistic jerks who couldn't deal with her ethnicity and sex. If you hated the midi-chlorians, you probably wouldn't have been a fan of this new trilogy, had Lucasfilm not been bought out by Disney. Clearly Lucas has some feelings about the elements of the story that remain unshared, and sadly, it is unlikely that this film will ever be put into motion, especially without the creative vision of Lucas himself.
Star Wars actor John Boyega has urged fans of the franchise to stop harassing the cast on social media.
He tweeted: 'If you don't like Star Wars or the characters understand that there are decisions makers and harassing the actors/ actresses will do nothing. But given that Lucas no longer ran the show, filmmaker J.J. "Even if you paid for a ticket!" the 26-year-old tweeted.
