George, 4, and Charlotte, 3, were seen running, jumping and laughing as they and their mom, Princess Kate, supported Prince William at the Maserati Royal Charity Polo Trophy at Beaufort Polo Club.
Another user suggested the controversy was a case of "political correctness gone mad, while another asked: "So what if Prince George was playing with a gun????" I really don't get toy guns - why play with things you should never have to use Kate alone shouldn't be blamed about this as we don't know who owns the toys, but someone should have said that this is NOT OK'.
As members of the royal family, Prince William, Kate Middleton and their kids are under a microscope of sorts, and fans don't always react to their lives in the same way.
George, dressed in beige shorts and a navy t-shirt, was pictured playing with a toy gun, toy knife and handcuffs.
She was also seen relaxing in Kate's lap and climbing up a bank with her mother. No child in this day and age should look at any gun as a fun toy.
Prince William looked at the two playful children in front of him, seemingly unamused.
We've selected a few of our favourites below and as mentioned, it's refreshing to see them just hanging out as normal because you know even the royal family can let their hair down once in a while.
