The German is keen on bringing Nabil Fekir to Merseyside, with the Frenchman himself keen on a switch to Liverpool, according to a report from the Mirror.

The attacker has done little to dampen speculation that he is on his way to Anfield and admitted last week that he was open to joining the Reds.

Even still, it appears that manager Jurgen Klopp is going for "overkill", as French global Fekir looks set for an Anfield move this transfer window, just a medical to go.

"If all goes well, medical visit in stride!"

The World Cup gets underway on June 14, and there's every chance Fekir's fee could increase if he heads to Russian Federation as a Lyon player and proceeds to dazzle the onlooking world with Les Bleus.

Liverpool have already announced Fabinho as having joined from AS Monaco, with Naby Keïta also set to join the club in the coming weeks.

Aarons claims that Lyon want a fee in the region of €70m for Fekir, who they value as their best player.

"I would be amazed if there are not other big clubs interested, but Liverpool are slowly making their way back not only to the top of the English game, but the top of the European game".

Lyon, however, are prepared to play the long game and make as much money from the deal as they can.

The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table to secure a Champions League spot for the second successive season. Let us know in the comments section.
