In a statement issued Friday after the President's remarks, Grisham stood by her previous comments. "Mrs. Trump had a successful embolization procedure. She can not travel internationally yet, and is doing great", Grisham said.

The president previously has provided details to the public about his wife's medical procedure that turned out to be incorrect.

Despite the cryptic tweets and public doubt, Trump rose from wherever she was hiding this week for a few different White House appearances. The procedure was successful and there were no complications.

After undergoing an embolization procedure to treat a benign kidney condition almost a month ago, First Lady Melania Trump is set to appear today with with her husband at FEMA headquarters.

"There's no question that family members can sometimes feel as if the procedure is something of that magnitude", Dr. Hong said, "from the time the patient departs the pre-procedure area until the time they see the patient again".

"Mrs. Trump has a medical team that is comfortable with her care, which is all that matters", Grisham said.

Mrs Trump's absence, beginning soon after she announced her initiative to teach kindness to children, sparked all sorts of theories about where she was and what might have happened to her, including that she had moved back to the family's penthouse at Trump Tower in NY.

The seemingly unending speculation about her whereabouts appeared to irritate Trump and his wife.

"The Fake News Media has been so unfair, and vicious, to my wife and our great First Lady, Melania", he tweeted this week.

Despite the operation's routine nature, Melania remained there for five days, returning to the White House on 19 May. During her recovery from surgery they reported everything from near death, to facelift, to left the W.H. "Fake News is really bad!"

Trump added: "And you know what?"

Melania Trump made her second public appearance since her kidney surgery Wednesday afternoon when she joined the president at a briefing on hurricane preparedness at FEMA.

Melania, 48, had not been spotted since 10 May, she joined the president in greeting three American hostages released by North Korea.
