Samsung has sent press invites for the Galaxy Unpacked confirming the debut of its upcoming Galaxy Note series handset.

The event is being held in NY, and starts at 10am local time, which is 4pm here in the UK.

The Galaxy Note 9 has a tough act to follow if it's to significantly improve upon last year's Note 8 phone.

The invite itself shows what looks to be the Galaxy Note's S Pen, at least an extreme close-up of the button on the side of the stylus. Samsung's Galaxy Note 9 is also supposed to offer an upgraded camera as a big selling point and be competition for the 2018 iPhone.

Samsung Electronics announced Thursday that it will unveil its new Galaxy Note 9 premium smartphone at 11 NY on August 9, confirming the official debut date for its latest device. Update (06/13): We've added new details about the Galaxy Note 9's alleged ...

The Note 8's screen measured 6.3 inches diagonally, up from the Note 7's 5.7 inches, without feeling much bigger. The phone runs on Android Oreo and is backed up by 3,000mAh battery and comes with support for Cat.

Samsung has reduced the price of Samsung Galaxy A6 32GB variant by Rs 2,000 in India, according to Mahesh Telecom, a Mumbai-based mobile phone retailer.

The invitation image shows a closeup of an S Pen with a gold and blue color scheme. You'll want to mark your calendars, get excited and... perhaps think about holding off for the Galaxy S10. Camera improvements are expected while an in-display fingerprint scanner - similar to the one that China's Vivo has managed to bring to market first - is rumored.
