A couple of days after Sonu Yogendra Jalan alias Sonu Malad was arrested in Thane, Bollywood actor Arbaaz Khan was also summoned to the police station for investigation after the reports of the latter's alleged involvement came up.

This comes days after police arrested the wanted Sonu Jalan alias Batla, a bookie operating an global ring.

Arbaaz's father, Salim Khan, spoke to Times Now and said that the actor is currently now in town.

It is beleived that Arbaaz Khan had placed bets through Sonu Jalan in the entire IPL season and the bookie was also trying to extort money from him. Arbaaz has been asked to record his statement by the ant-extortion cell of Thane crime branch. He was arrested in connection with a betting racket that was busted in Dombivali on May 16.

Jalan had apparently met a Dawood aid in Dubai, with "links in Pakistan, Afghanistan and other countries". Jalan reportedly worked for a bookie who goes by the name "Junior Kolkata".
