The shooting took place around 06:45 local time, police say.

She has been charged with murder and booked into a Dallas County jail. Mary Harrison posted signs and the cat eventually was returned. "A man got shot over a cat?"

The victim was reportedly transported to an area hospital where he died shortly after his arrival, as reported by KXAS. "It's kind of insane", neighbor Carl Phillips told KTVT. "They don't bother anybody", neighbor Carl Phillips said.
