This summer, National Basketball Association center DeMarcus Cousins made a big splash when he announced that he would be leaving New Orleans and signing a one-year, $5.3 million contract with the NBA's stable of super villains known as the Golden State Warriors.

Prior to making his decision, he said he spoke to Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green about the possibility of teaming up.

"I didn't really care, honestly", he told ESPN on Thursday about the outrage from fans on social media. He's one of the top in this business and just his approach to every game, I want that guy on my team every day.

Along with Cousins' free agency period this summer, the documentary will also take a more in-depth look at the All Star big man's journey from his hometown of Mobile, Alabama to his new home in Oakland, the rehabilitation process following his season-ending Achilles injury, and more. "I'm in a unique situation as well where I'm not needed right away", Cousins said.

Cousins insists he had no other offers aside from the one-year offer he got from Golden State, but that hasn't stopped fans from accusing him of chasing an easy championship. "They are a well-established team and they could have easily been like, 'No, we don't need him.' But they were excited like a team that's never accomplished anything".

"I could have probably got a decent contract from a bad team, Cousins said". "I don't give a (expletive)". I'm sad now because I see the reactions, but I didn't give a f-.

Cousins was candid in saying the move is his "nuclear bomb" unleashed on the league. "I'm not gonna put myself in an already-bad situation and try to prove my value or my worth as a player in a situation that's not looking to win". "When I feel I'm at that point, I'll make the return". But, it's just kind of amusing because before the whole thing started, I was just kind of wasted.

"I've been through so much adversity, if I sat there and dwelled on those moments, where the f*** would I be right now?"

Cousins averaged 25.2 points and career highs with 12.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists in the 2017-18 season before getting injured. "I'll put it this way: If you live your life to satisfy every person that critiques you, then you'll drive yourself insane. I'm a fighter, and I never give up, and I'm taking this challenge head on".
