Saskatchewan RCMP announced today that the driver, Jaskirat Sidhu, is facing 16 counts of unsafe operation of a vehicle causing death and 13 counts of risky operation of a vehicle causing injury. He faces 16 counts of unsafe operation of a motor vehicle causing death and 13 counts of risky operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily injury.
Sidhu was arrested Friday and will make his first court appearance next week, authorities said.
During an update last month, RCMP said they would be consulting with the Crown on possible charges once the investigation was complete.
Sixteen people died and 13 were injured.

"What we can say about the evidence is limited, as the matter is before the courts", RCMP Superintendent Derek Williams said at a news conference on Friday.
"We've looked at every aspect of the collision, including the speed of the vehicles, point of impact, position of vehicles, impairment, road and weather conditions and witness evidence", Williams told the media today.
A bus carrying the junior hockey team from the westerns Canadian town of about 6,000 people collided with a semi while traveling to a playoff game. The 13 counts of risky driving causing bodily harm could garner 10 years each.
The truck that was involved belongs to Calgary-based Adesh Deol Trucking Limited.
