Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is believed to be keen to reinforce his defence, and is reportedly looking to land one of three centre-backs in this transfer window.

The Red Devils boss is said to have been granted a meeting with the club's hierarchy prior to jetting off to the United States, where his side have so far drawn both of their pre-season friendlies.

Mourinho insists his team will look more like the one that is likely to start the Premier League season when a number of his World Cup stars return to the fray.

"One more training session".

Could Harry Maguire arrive at Old Trafford?

According to the Daily Mail, Mourinho is interested in Leicester City's Harry Maguire, Tottenham Hotspur's Toby Alderweireld and AC Milan's Leonardo Bonucci.

Leicester are aware of United's interest and "will improve Maguire's wages to around £75,000 in a bid to tie him down for another season", but that weekly sum might not be enough to fight off United's financial muscle.

Maguire continued to forge a reputation as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League last season and he carried that form in to the World Cup as he was one of England's star performers en route to their semi-final appearance in Russian Federation.

Right now Mourinho has Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof and Marcos Rojo at his disposal so it makes sense he'd have to sell to buy.

The 25-year-old's stock rose considerably following impressive performances for England at the World Cup.
