For the past year, Cohen has vehemently denied participating in or knowing about any collusion with Russian Federation during the 2016 campaign.

Cohen changed his Twitter header photo, which previously showed the attorney standing behind a Trump campaign podium, to a picture of the American flag and deleted "Personal attorney to President Donald J. Trump" from his bio, replacing it with his LinkedIn page.

The president's allies have long considered the wide-ranging corruption investigation into Cohen and his business dealings to pose an even more imminent threat to the president than the special counsel investigation.

Davis is expected to join Guy Petrillo, a former federal prosecutor in Manhattan, in representing Cohen.

Attorney Michael Cohen arrives to court in NY.

"I will not be a punching bag as part of anyone's defense strategy".

"His mindset is of someone who is operating under the assumption that he is not getting that, though of course he doesn't know one way or the other", the second friend said. "I think he's going to tell the truth, as best he can, given his recollection. Everything has been a dead-end because there is nothing there".

Mr. Cohen did not respond to a request for comment. Depending on who you ask, Cohen or Trump, the interview was immediately terminated (Trump's report) or, it was terminated after about seven minutes (Cohen's report, according to The Hollywood Reporter).

"I don't agree with those who demonize or vilify the Federal Bureau of Investigation".

Regardless of where you stand on the man's politics, it's quite clear that President Donald Trump has proven to be an endless supply of comedic fodder for Hollywood.

The question now becomes what Cohen's show will look like once it airs.

In October 2012, after Cohen's ash stunt, Trump tweeted, "I never fall for scams". "He is exercising his discretion to send a direct message between the eyes to the President of the United States". Baron Cohen's next project was Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, a feature film starring his second alter ego, Borat Sagdiyev, a Kazakhstani news reporter. The first episode will air exclusively in the United Kingdom on Channel 4 at 10pm on Monday 16th July.
