Everton have signed Yerry Mina, the Barcelona defender, after being given an additional two hours to finalise the signing and taking their summer spending to about £80 million.

Colombian centre-back Mina will join in a deal worth €30.25 million with another €1.5 in potential add-ons, Barcelona said.

Tickets are on sale for The 148th Open at Royal Portrush, Northern Ireland with members of The One Club guaranteed first access to tickets.

Andre Gomes' Barcelona nightmare is set to be put on hold for a year after the Catalan club confirmed they have reached an agreement for him to go on loan to Everton for the 2018-19 season. This is a great opportunity for me and I am looking forward to competing here. I believe I will be able to show my best as a player here.

"Barcelona would like to publicly express their thanks to Yerry Mina for his commitment and dedication and wishes him all the best for the future".

Mina, 23, only joined Barca six months ago from Palmeiras, but coach Ernesto Valverde has not been convinced by him and the club have made a decision to take advantage of his increased value following an impressive World Cup.

The 25-year-old, who has won 14 caps for his country since 2014, links up with new Toffees boss Marco Silva at Goodison Park to become their fourth signing of the summer, and will wear number 20 for the club.

Likewise, Portuguese global Gomes has failed to establish himself as a first team regular since joining from Valencia for an initial 35 million euro fee in 2016. The 25-year-old has played 29 times for his country.
