José Mourinho unsure when Anthony Martial will return to Manchester United training

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has made very few positive statements as of late, although he was quick to praise centre-back Eric Bailly after his sides 4-1 pre-season friendly defeat to bitter rival Liverpool in MI last night.

"He has the baby and after the baby is born, handsome baby, full of health, thank god", Mourinho told MUTV.

Martial started United's first two friendlies in their pre-season tour of the USA before telling Mourinho he would be leaving for the birth of his second child.

The Portuguese coach also has concerns about the 22-year-old's mentality.

Anthony Martial has risked being disciplined by Manchester United by failing to return to training following the birth of his second child.

Martial has since issued a statement on Twitter responding to the circus around his return to France for the birth of his son, saying: "Thank you all for your messages".

But the winger has answered that question himself: he will be back in Manchester tomorrow.

"So the game today, win 2-1, lose 2-1, draw 2-2, doesn't change anything but of course I know the players I can count on, these guys are incredible professionals, they give everything for the club, for the prestige of the club, is not nice to come here and lose 5 or 6-1 versus Real Madrid today and they were phenomenal". "My little Swan is fine, for the mum is was harder but thanks to God she's better now".

All the goals came in the first half.

All eyes will be on their reunion, that's for sure.
