Lord's Test centurion Chris Woakes (4) got lethal short ball that reared up and he tried to fend it awkwardly as Rishabh Pant timed his jump to perfection to snap the chance. For England, Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes, did the resurrection act through a mammoth 169-run fifth wicket stand which eventually allowed England to stay alive on the fifth day, albeit only just.
Buttler was dropped as the England Test wicketkeeper in October 2015, losing his place to Jonny Bairstow, and played just three more Tests - as a specialist batsman in India two winters ago - before his surprise recall for the home series against Pakistan in May. There have been questions since Buttler was drafted into the Test side for the previous series against Pakistan on the basis of his IPL form.
"They played the Test match way, with great patience, skill and discipline, the attritional way that is required in Test cricket when the ball is doing a bit - and it was doing plenty", Vaughan told BBC Test Match Special.
Hardik Pandya, sharing the new ball with Bumrah, had Ben Stokes snaffled up by KL Rahul - his sixth catch at 2nd slip in the match. The Indian bowlers - Ishant, Bumrah and Shami - have been brilliantly delivering since the beginning of Day 4.
Bumrah insisted India remained positive even when Buttler and Stokes were well set. He was the only effective batsman in the first innings for England but continues to bat down the order.
To bat: J. Root, O. Pope, J. Bairstow, B. Stokes, J. Buttler, C. Woakes, A. Rashid, S. Broad, J. Anderson.
He put on 113 for the third wicket with Cheteshwar Pujara, who hit 72, and 57 for the sixth with Ajinkya Rahane (29).
Root poked at a wide Bumrah delivery to edge to second slip, while Pope followed him by edging a booming drive off Shami.
"I thought Jimmy Anderson showed why he is the best seam bowler in world cricket".
They managed to take 84 off that total by the end of Tuesday's opening session but it came at significant cost as Keaton Jennings was out in the opening over before Alastair Cook, Joe Root and Ollie Pope were also dismissed.
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are the most loved celebrity couple, as they bring both cricket and Bollywood to the table, which the audiences absolutely love. England openers survived nervy nine overs in the last session on Day 3.
Kohli was a walking wicket during the tour even as India, under MS Dhoni, squandered an early lead to lose the series 3-1 after James Anderson & Co. exploited the Indian batsman's weakness outside the off-stump, making life hard for him.
