Woman helps man short on cash, finds out he's Keith Urban

The singer was in New Jersey for his concert in Camden on Friday night.

Paying it forward at a Medford Wawa Friday led to a memorable encounter with singer Keith Urban for a local substitute teacher.

According to Page Six, for the last three years Reed has had a resolution that, once a week, she'd buy groceries for a fellow customer at the convenience store, making this random act of kindness simply part of her weekly routine.

"I said that he looked like Keith Urban and he said that he was", explained Reed in a Facebook post, which she adorably described as a "Ruth Reed moment".

Ruth Reed was trying to do a good deed when she offered to help a man pay at a Wawa who didn't have enough money.

"I argued with him that he was not Keith Urban", Reed said.

Reed told CBS Philly she thought he looked familiar but did not immediately recognize him.

Reed admitted she took some convincing and even got "snippy" with him.

"It looked like he was using a card and it didn't go through and then he asked a young lady for $5 and I thought "this is it" so I said 'No I'll get it, '" she recalled to KYW.

She asked where his wife Nicole Kidman was and he introduced the woman he was with as his sister. It turns out he was a country music superstar.

The generous customer was Ruth Reed, a substitute teacher in South Jersey who happened to be in the store at the same time as Urban.

Reed, who is very shy, has been getting a lot of attention over her interaction with Urban.
