Unai Emery has refused to guarantee Alexandre Lacazette will retain his place alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ahead of Arsenal's match at Newcastle on Saturday.

The Gunners were able to put a hard start behind them as they clinched a 3-1 home win against West Ham United before making the trip to Cardiff City, where they came out on top with a 3-2 victory.

@SimonBrotherton: Newcastle won the last meeting between the sides 2-1 at St James' Park in April, and the way Arsenal have started the season, you'd think the Magpies are likely to have some chances here.

"Our aim away at Newcastle on Saturday is to keep improving things and continue to create our idea, build up our spirit on the pitch, individually and collectively, and it is clear this process is one process".

"Saturday is another step, it will be hard but I want to continue [to show] our personality and impose this on the opposition".

Meanwhile, Emery hopes Granit Xhaka, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Danny Welbeck and Sokratis Papastathopoulos will be in contention for Saturday's game.

All players have returned from worldwide duty with their national teams in good health and are available for selection.

Granit Xhaka continues to split opinion among the fans as while he's so important to our build-up play, he is a liability when we're not in possession.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery is hoping a break from worldwide football can help Mesut Ozil recover his best form at club level for the Gunners, AFP reports.
