Musk told Rogan that running Tesla is the hardest of his several endeavors.

The two then drank some whiskey and discussed how alcohol is also a drug.

Musk has said the company is producing more than 5,000 Model 3 electric cars per week, and cash generated from the sales will bring sustained quarterly profits.

"I've thought about this quite a lot, quite a lot", Musk said of the electric jet design, according to The Verge.

"Assuming that the South African-born businessman would not accept, the podcast host asked: "'You probably can't do this because of stockholders, right?"

"Come on man", Mr. Rogan laughed.

Musk caused jitters for shareholders last month when he announced, out of the blue, that he was planning to make the company private, before backtracking and saying it would remain public.

The tech entrepreneur continued by assuring viewers that he is "not a regular smoker of weed", since it's not "very good for productivity".

Elon Musk talked about artifical intelligence and colonising space during the long interview.

He may have been referring to the ongoing spat with Unsworth, which may culminate in a lawsuit or even the Federal Securities and Exchange Commission investigation he triggered when he suggested on Twitter that Tesla might go private. The chairman and CEO of both Tesla and Space Exploration Technologies Corp., among other companies, recently gave an emotional interview to The New York Times in which he said friends were anxious about exhaustion. Musk's original tweet was deleted, but he's revived the unsupported claim multiple times.

Tesla's top accountant announced Friday he was stepping down after a month on the job, citing the electric vehicle company's frenetic pace.

Tesla's $1.8 billion junk bond maturing in August 2025 plunged as much as 4 cents on the dollar to below 82 cents, a record low, in Friday trading, pushing the yield above 8.8 percent.

Also today, Tesla human resources chief Gaby Toledano announced that she would not be returning to Tesla after taking a leave of absence last month.

Chief Accounting Officer Dave Morton resigned after just one month in the job because of discomfort with the attention on the company and pace of work during that time, Tesla said in a filing on Friday.

Tesla is undergoing another executive shakeup, and investors are nervous.

Back in April 2016, Air Force awarded Musk's company with almost $83 million to launch a GPS III satellite, and extended contracts in the following years.

"I want to be clear that I believe strongly in Tesla, its mission, and its future prospects, and I have no disagreements with Tesla's leadership or its financial reporting", Morton added. Some analysts have suggested the CEO needs a No. 2 to help him run the company, whether that is a strong chief operating officer or a co-CEO.
