Lyricist Sameer defends Anu Malik after sexual harassment allegations

After singers Sona Mohapatra and Shweta Pandit accused Malik of sexual harassment, two budding singers levelled similar allegations against him.

Another woman, who is an aspiring singer, alleged that she was approached to participate on Indian Idol 10 as a wild card entry but she refused the offer because Malik had sexually harassed her seven years ago.

Anu Malik has been on the jury panel since the beginning of the show in 2014. The singer had rubbished Sona's accusations and even said that he hasn't even met her!

Veteran music composer Anu Malik might step down as a judge for "Indian Idol 10" after numerous allegations of sexual harassment.

Composer Anu Malik has denied reports that Sony asked him to step down as the judge of Indian Idol in the wake of multiple sexual allegations against him, and instead said he himself told the channel he wanted to take a break from the show as he was unable to focus on his work. "The show will continue its planned schedule and we'll invite some of the greatest names in Indian music as guests in Indian Idol season 10". Shweta requested that if she can sing in some other room but Anuji said that I want Samerji to also hear your voice. She captioned it as, "Had to go back to my worst memory as a teenage girl today to write this and speak up - its now or never". She had written, "I called #AnuMalik out first & stand by my statement of him being a "serial predator" along with #KailashKher".

Malik has been judging the latest edition of the Indian Idol with Vishal Dadlani and Neha Kakkar. She also said the episode had left her depressed for months. She said that Malik said that he would give her a song with Sunidhi and Shaan but only if she kissed him. It was just him and me there.

Another victim revealed that Anu had asked her to meet at his place wearing a chiffon saree. Meanwhile, Anu Malik's lawyer denied the allegations and said, "The allegations made against my client are emphatically denied as completely false and baseless".
