Mega Millions Jackpot hits $667 million

The combined jackpots of the Mega Millions and Powerball have many people rushing to the closest convenience store, because in total they're worth close to $1 billion.

The $654 million jackpot is the second-largest jackpot in Mega Millions history and the fourth-largest jackpot in USA lottery history.

Free Mega Millions tickets are available Tuesday ahead of one of the game's largest drawings.

In order to win tonight's jackpot, you'd need to match all five white balls and the yellow Mega ball. It's the second-largest in Mega Millions history.

Wednesday night's Powerball drawing will be the 19th since the jackpot was last hit August 11, when a $245.6 million jackpot was won on a ticket sold in NY. It's $345 million, or $199 million in cash. The odds of winning this jackpot are 1 in 302 million. No one has won since July and the next drawing is Tuesday, Oct. 16, and the grand prize is $654 million. Winning tickets in that drawing came from Illinois, Kansas and Maryland. The store received $1 million from Mega Millions for making the sale.

The Mega Millions is played in 44 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S Virgin Islands.

On Tuesday, many Hoosiers were trying to get tickets before the drawing.
