The mental health activist was awarded at the 2018 MTV EMAs pre-show held at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre, on Sunday in Bilbao, Spain. Singer and actress Hailee Steinfield took the helm of the award ceremony as host.

As for the main categories, Ms. Camila walked away with the Best Artist award, apart from the Best Song and Best Video accolades for Havana and best U.S./Worldwide Act.

Shawn Mendes picked up the Best Live Award and the Best Canadian Act gong whilst Dua Lipa won Best Pop and Cardi B took home the Best New award.

Jackson later posted an image on Instagram from the MTV European Music Awards, expressing her thanks for the award.

The show, formerly known as the MTV Europe Music Awards, celebrated its 25th edition in northern Spain. She was nominated alongside talented African musicians; Davido (Nigeria), Distruction Boyz (South Africa), Fally Ipupa (DRC), Nyashinski (Kenya) and Shekhinah (South Africa) - who walked the red carpet and attended the awards in Bilbao. At The Disco made an action-movie entry.
