China Gets OnePlus 6T in Thunder Purple

OnePlus 6T ‘Thunder Purple’ press renders appear online ahead of launch

For pricing, you can get it in China now for ¥3,399 (around $490) with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. OnePlus 6T Product Manager Louis S in the same session highlighted that receiving an IP certification increases the cost the cost of the device by $30 (roughly Rs. 2,200) that isn't of company's aim at the present stage.

Other than the difference in colors, the Thunder Purple variant shares the same specs as the Midnight Black and Mirror Black variants.

The OnePlus 6T is the brand's latest flagship smartphone, and features incremental upgrades over the OnePlus 6. There is also another 16MP sensor housed inside the notch. The device also comes with dual cameras, although the secondary doesn't do much. Android 9 Pie comes pre-installed on the phone, and as already mentioned, HydrogenOS comes pre-installed on the device in China, while OxygenOS is packed on top of Android 9 Pie everywhere else. OnePlus was an exception with the 6T, following the Henry Ford mantra of "any colour, as long as it's black".

Yet, until OnePlus sheds some official info on the Thunder Purple version of the OnePlus 6T, don't keep your hopes up for it being available in a T-Mobile store near you - for all we know, it could remain a China-exclusive and never make it to any Western market. It remains to be seen if OnePlus plans to introduce a red-colored OnePlus 6T at some point, but at the moment, it seems like the Thunder Purple variant is here instead of the red-colored phone.
