HBO releases first ‘Game of Thrones’ season 8 teaser, announces April debut

HBO has released a brand new Game of Thrones video, teasing the final season of their hit show.

HBO previously stated that Game of Thrones would premiere in the first half of 2019 and earlier this month it revealed the first photo of the highly anticipated eighth season. That said, this is the first official confirmation of the premiere date we've seen from HBO.

Game of Thrones fans have been waiting to find out when the final season of their favorite fantasy series will finally arrive.

It's not a trailer with new footage, but it sure beats that time "Game of Thrones" made everyone spend an hour watching a block of ice melt, in order to find out the Season 7 air date.

Their most powerful moments are also depicted, with Daenerys triumphantly riding her dragon Drogon to wipe out a Lannister army; Cersei obliterating Great Sept of Baelor and all her enemies within; and Jon defiantly staring down the Night King beyond the Wall. Instead, it was a recap of numerous big events that have happened in the world of Westeros over the years. Every risk. Every fight. Naomi Watts and Josh Whitehouse have been cast in the prequel series.
