Vichai bought Leicester in 2010 and the team went on to win the Premier League title against the odds in 2016.

With Vichai's funeral underway on Saturday in Bangkok, Leicester headed to Cardiff for a match that served as a chance to honour their late owner and begin the healing process.

Numerous squad, including Vardy, Morgan, and goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, have spoken of the huge impact the Thai billionaire had on them and the club.

Leicester City manager Claude Puet led numerous club's star players - including England defender Harry Maguire, striker Jamie Vardy and goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel - into the Buddhist temple in Bangkok on Sunday. It has been an emotional day. "I could see Lee Probert thinking 'oh no, why has he done that?' He's going to be the villain of the piece in a game where everybody's eyes are focused on something else".

Cardiff placed a wreath on the field, as the Leicester squad led the minute's silence.

Members of the Leicester City team, including the striker Jamie Vardy, goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and captain Wes Morgan, as well as the coach Claude Puel, were due to fly to Thailand after their match against Cardiff on Saturday to pay their respects to the owner.

"Of course it will be very hard, but we will work every game to get the three points and at the end of it try and celebrate winning one more Premier League".

Leicester are 12th in the table on 13 points, while promoted Cardiff are 17th with five points from 10 games.

After scoring, Gray removed his jersey to reveal an undershirt on which the words "For Khun Vichai" were emblazoned as a tribute.

The Leicester players each wore t-shirts paying tribute to Srivaddhanaprabha, who was known as "The Boss".

He said: 'That was a tough game, not just on the pitch, but mentally.

At Dean Court, Marcus Rashford's close-range finish in stoppage-time helped Manchester United hit back to win 2-1.

United started poorly and deservedly trailed through Callum Wilson's early goal before Anthony Martial equalised before the break.

Puel's team, now 12th in the Premier League, are without a victory in their last three games. The first half was a disaster.

Richarlison's brace inspired Everton's 3-1 win over Brighton at Goodison Park.
