"I think the period today of the club, at Tottenham, is so exciting", he told reporters.

Dele Alli, who signed a new six-year contract this week, has stated that Spurs' manager was "a massive part of wanting to be at this club". The manager acknowledged that his players trust he will continue at Spurs but warned that their allegiance must be first and foremost to the club.

"They have confidence in me, yes of course". "But it is not that they attach to me only".

The Brazilian wa sa record signing for the club when he joined from Lazio over the summer, and big things were expected from him as a result.

Tottenham seemed to be heading for a comfortable victory after going 3-0 up in the 61st minute.

Brazilian legend Rivaldo says Real Madrid should be looking to appoint Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager and believes Harry Kane could be the ideal replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Argentine has always been touted as a future manager of Los Blancos after the impressive job he has done to turn Tottenham Hotspur from serial "nearly-men" into regular top four finishers - and has done so by playing some fine football.

"You know better than me that it is like this and that's why I'm happy with the three points but disappointed because we are talking about experienced players, not younger ones that can learn".

"Some days maybe we will be disappointed [with each other], which is normal in a relationship". The team adapted very well though and I think we played well.

Mauricio Pochettino has playfully responded to reports of approaches from Real Madrid, believing it will help his current status at Tottenham.

Pochettino said: "It is like our girlfriend or wife".

"Your wife, rather than be anxious, is happy to be with you, in love with you".

In a rather freakish move, the Argentine likened the situation to that of another woman looking at him whilst he was out with his wife.

The January transfer window is now two months away, and Pochettino said recently that he would like to bring in new recruits.

"We don't know [how bad it is] but we are a little bit anxious", said Pochettino. We need to learn that to play seriously is to not make mistakes - don't concede or give the opponents such a cheap or poor action that they can stay in the game. "It's hard not to feel a little bit unfairly done by", he said.
