When it left Xbox One's Game Preview program back in September, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds arrived with all the bombast of a console-exclusive - there were console bundles, Xbox One Wireless Controllers and a new map.
PUBG, or PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, is reportedly already in Sony's servers and ready for release. (Hat tip to ResetERA forum member Taker34 for discovering the posts on Monday.) The images in question are linked to an apparent digital game ID code, and they reflect two types of logos found in the PS4's interface: the icon that appears in a user's library, and the splash screen that appears while the game is loading. "It's in my PS4 Game Database", the user's comment said.
That pageantry has since died down some since the swelling popularity of other battle royale games like Fortnite, but that enthusiasm might be reignited if the game arrives on the PS4 next month. In August an Inside Xbox documentary featured footage of the PUBG Corp's office, and on one of the desks was a PlayStation 4 Pro.
A December release would also line up neatly with one year exclusivity for Xbox, as PUBG first launched on Microsoft's console on December 12, 2017. It's also around the time of the Video Game Awards, where big games are frequently announced.
Do you think PUBG is coming to PS4? This, as Microsoft notes on the store, is PUBG version 1.0, so this is the full release for free.
