Report Newlyweds killed in helicopter crash while leaving their wedding

NTSB told local media it will release details about the crash on Monday

A helicopter crash outside this south-central Texas county claimed the lives of two newlyweds who had just left their wedding, reports CBS San Antonio affiliate KENS-TV.

According to university newspaper the Houstonian, Will Byler had been studying agricultural engineering, and Bailee Ackerman Byler was studying agricultural communication. "We ask that you keep the Byler and Ackerman families in your thoughts and prayers", the Houstonian posted on Facebook Sunday evening.

The crash occurred near Uvalde, about 85 miles (135km) west of San Antonio.

The National Transportation Safety Board said in a tweet Sunday morning that the helicopter involved is a Bell 206B.

Jacob Martinez, an individual working the event shared video of the moment the couple took off in the helicopter.

The Uvalde County Sheriff's Office said the department received the call at around midnight Saturday about the crash in the northwest part of the county.

"Sadly they crashed into the side of a hill about a mile from the family ranch", the post read. The couple was killed as well as the pilot, Fox News reports. "When Bailee met Will she completely fell in love".

Bailee was going to graduate in December and Will in May, Ellis said.

The Federal Aviation Administration, which is assisting with the investigation, said the helicopter "crashed under unknown circumstances in a remote area". "They will be greatly missed by many".
