Ted Cruz, said he doesn't understand why anyone would be angry with asylum seekers "doing what any human being would do".
Before Triumph interviewed Cruz, he spoke to his opponent, O'Rourke. He asks the candidate if he's concerned that his young voters think they can vote for him through Instagram, and tries to get O'Rourke to endorse voting twice thanks to the broken voting machines. Wandering through the crowds, roasting Cruz to his own supporters - many of whom couldn't help but laugh at their own candidate's expense - Triumph finally came across his white whale.
When asked why she chose to support O'Rourke at the polls, Aguirre told the reporter, "Because he represents everything that Donald Trump isn't".
People have compared Cruz to the Zodiac killer, which Triumph called unfair, "since his plan to end Obamacare would kill way more people - I mean way, way, way, way more people!"
Triumph replied with a burn that might've left a scar.
Colbert noted that Triumph had been unsuccessful in confronting Senator Ted Cruz during the 2016 Republican presidential primary, but Triumph's luck was a bit better this time around.

Inside the Cruz rally, Triumph yelled, "Ted, quick question, I have a preexisting condition that makes me vomit out of my eyes whenever I look at you". Cruz said, "Just remember: It wasn't the Republicans, it was the Democrats that took you into the vet to get fixed and there is freedom on the other side".
"Ted, is it true you will defend the constitution at all costs?"
Carrey wasn't finished in the back and forth, taking one last shot at Cruz by dragging Donald Trump into the situation.
Triumph finally confronted Cruz after one of his rallies. Triumph responded by saying "I support spaying and neutering, just like Trump did to you".
